Biography

In the pristine air of the Araucanía region of Chile, in the picturesque town of Pucón, lives a woman who makes nature her muse, her livelihood, and her home. Courtney Cadenhead, born in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States, came to the south of Chile in 2012 with an adventurous spirit and a heart full of passion for life.

From a young age, Courtney demonstrated unique creativity and sensitivity that led her to study art at the prestigious School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Unwilling to be confined to just one area, her curiosity led her to delve into other disciplines such as translation and communication, which have led her to enroll in a master's degree in Strategic Communication, Marketing, and Business at the Universidad del Desarrollo, to be completed in 2024.

Courtney's professional trajectory is broad and diverse. She has been an English teacher in Tierra del Fuego, Chile, worked as an office coordinator at several legal nonprofit organizations in the United States, and collaborated as a translator with the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao in Spain.

But where she has truly found her passion is in photography, specializing in capturing the natural beauty of her surroundings, from the majesty of the nearby volcanoes to the delicacy of the region’s native flora and fauna. Currently, as a partner in a real estate company, Courtney combines her love for photography and communication to bring RedTerra Properties' projects to life.

In her free time, Courtney immerses herself in nature, exploring trails and climbing mountains to capture striking sunrises and sunsets. She also enjoys exercising at the gym and taking long walks in the region's national parks with her partner Jorge and their two sons, Gabriel and Paulo.

With an open mind and a generous heart, Courtney is an intelligent, responsible, and hardworking person with an admirable sense of aesthetics and organization. She has traveled to many countries, from the Netherlands to Scotland, passing through Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador and always finding a way to learn about the culture and appreciate the beauty of each place.
